JEWELLERY IN THE GENES
At the age of 21, having completed his apprenticeship, armed with an expert knowledge of gems and a strong desire to follow his dream, Percy Marks scraped together his meagre savings to open his first store.
His impeccable eye for quality and design won him an enduring reputation – one not restricted to Australian shores. A man with an instinct for beauty and aesthetics, his sixth sense for style won him the praises of his contemporaries world wide.
Fortunately, after Percy’s passing in 1935, his uncompromisingly strict eye had been passed down to family.
Through his sons, Percy jnr. and Rolf, his grandson Ken and now great-grandson Cameron, the Marks family has a perspective on jewellery, style and culture that spans four generations. Ken and Cameron still travel to the gemstone capitals of the world to secure the finest stones for their clients. Because of the family’s long established contacts and high standing they are offered some of the world’s finest stones
